ABOUT US
Karak Construction is Proudly Western Australian Owned & Operated.
Karak Construction is named in honour of the Karak. Karak got his distinctive red feathers when Ngolark (white-tailed Carnaby cockatoo) was struck along his tail and covered in red sap while protecting his friend. Ngolark cried in pain until the only sound he could make was the strained ‘karak’ sound he makes today, and became Karak, the red-tailed black cockatoo. The Karak holds deep cultural significance, with its feathers used in ceremony as well as being a common totem amongst Noongar peoples, including the past matriarchs of our owner’s Moort (family).
